Paid time off (PTO) is designed to meet individual needs for time away from work. It is a consolidation of vacation, holiday and sick leave. PTO begins accruing from date of hire, and for most employees is available to use after it has been accrued.

Samaritan’s comprehensive benefit program includes generous medical, pharmacy, dental and vision coverage for eligible employees and their dependents. We offer two plan options, including a health savings account eligible high deductible option. Employees are eligible for health insurance the first of the month following date of hire.

Samaritan offers two retirement programs that work together to assist employees in saving for their future. Under the SHS Retirement Plan, which is fully funded by Samaritan, eligible employees receive a contribution equivalent to 4% of eligible wages, plus an additional 4% contribution for wages in excess of the Social Security taxable wage base up to the IRS annual compensation. In addition, our tax sheltered annuity plan allows employees to contribute their own funds and eligible employees receive up to a 2% match.

We offer several options to secure your family’s financial future. Basic life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage and long-term disability insurance are provided to eligible employees at no cost. In addition, employees may purchase a variety of voluntary insurance products including additional life and AD&D for employees and dependents, short-term disability, critical illness and more.

• Available to employees with a full time equivalent (FTE) classification of .5 FTE of above.
• Eligible employees are reimbursed for a portion of the cost of qualifying undergraduate and graduate classes.
• Reimbursement amounts are determined by degree program and employee’s FTE classification.

Employees are reimbursed for participating in approved health-related classes, gym memberships and activities up to the yearly maximum of $300.

• Confidential counseling services for all Samaritan employees and their dependents.
• Financial management counseling services including individualized budget development as well classes on a variety of topics.

• Samaritan employees are given special discount opportunities by various businesses including, but not limited to, cell phone service providers, hotels, sporting events, health and beauty services, and much more throughout Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties.
• Employees also enjoy a discount at all Samaritan Health Services cafeterias and on over-the-counter medications in Samaritan’s retail pharmacies.
