JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
-
Coordinates and teaches courses related to nursing and ancillary service functions. Assesses needs and implements educational activities which will meet the multidisciplinary activities of SHS. Coordinates education, training and clinical orientations to meet the needs of the unit/department and organization. Develops appropriate materials including, but not limited to: needs assessments, objectives and outlines, pre- and post-tests, evaluations and clinical simulations. Utilizes clinical expertise to improve nursing and clinical practice. Serves as a role model, patient advocate, change agent and leader.

A member of the Nursing Administration team provides leadership and operational support for our hospitals. The team specializes in organizational and staff development at all levels with a focus on workforce readiness, advancing clinical excellence, supporting professional development, achieving desired outcomes, and building great teams and leaders.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required. BSN required.
-
Five (5) years clinically related experience in an acute care setting required.

If appropriate to clinical area, ACLS required within three (3) months of hire.
-
Experience or training with MS Office applications required.
-
Experience or training in the theories, concepts, and principles of the education process required.
-
Experience or training in developing and teaching curriculum required.
-
Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
-
NLH Nursing Administration
-
TNCC and PALS required within six (6) months of hire.
-
National specialty certification required within two (2) years of hire.
-
Master's degree in a related field required within three (3) years of hire.

Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.
