JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
-
Responsible for the delivery, in-service, retrieval, and maintenance of in-home DME, respiratory equipment and soft goods utilized by home care clients.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
-
The Samaritan Medical Supplies team assists people of all ages with their home medical supply needs. Services include respiratory therapy and oxygen, orthopedic bracing, post-injury or surgery mobility equipment, special attention to customer/patient needs and free local delivery.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
High School diploma or equivalent required.

Successful completion of Drivers Privileges for SHS Vehicles application process required.

Must be able to pass Criminal Records Check per OAR 333-027-0064 upon hire and every three (3) years thereafter.

Previous experience in a home care setting preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
-
Confidentiality: Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Proficient in specialized equipment, including durable medical equipment, designated delivery vehicles, the pager system, and personal protective and safety equipment.

Knowledge of current ODOT medical gas handling and transportation regulations.

Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment, personal protective and safety equipment, multi-line phones, computer systems, point of sale systems and all other office equipment.

Safety and Security - Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures. Ability to instruct the public in and promote safe and secure operations. Possess knowledge and skills to educate patients on equipment and ensure safety compliance.

Knowledge of government and commercial insurance compliance/regulatory/billing requirements including local coverage determinations (LCDS), contracted providers, referral procedures, coding and billing information.
