  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Provides treatment based upon established plan of care for patients with wounds, fistulas, percutaneous tubes, ostomies, incontinence, and actual or potential skin breakdown. Serves as a resource and consultant to patients and nursing staff. Performs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care provided. Collaborates with WOCN to implement changes in the plan of care.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • Samaritan Wound Care treats acute or chronic wounds caused by diabetes, surgery, injury, poor blood flow and/or other problems. The scope of practice is physician driven and centered around wound, ostomy and continence care while maintaining additional adjunctive therapies such as vein medicine and hyperbaric medicine.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current unencumbered Oregon RN licensure required.
    • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
    • BSN preferred.
    • Related certification in Wound Care preferred. 
    • Experience in acute care preferred.
    • PCH Wound Ostomy:
      • Experience in wound ostomy preferred.

Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers.     • Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
