JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Oversees and coordinates security and emergency management/disaster preparedness system wide. Develops plans and policies/procedures to meet all accrediting agency and State/Federal regulation requirements. Provides leadership and direction to the SHS system including training and documentation. Assures high standards are maintained for all areas of responsibility.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Samaritan Health Services works with local, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment in all SHS facilities for staff, patients and visitors. Staff members are trained in conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, safe restraint methods and legal responsibilities. All training is under the required guidelines of DPSST (Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training). Samaritan Health Services Department of Security strives for a community policing model reflective and representative of the community they serve.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
-
Five (5) years security and Emergency Management experience required.

Experience in the following required:
-
Use of force guidelines.
-
Incident/Unified Command Systems.
-
Investigation and crime scene preservation.
-
OSHA and accrediting agencies.
-
Computer applications (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
