JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

To coordinate, prepare, and process patient information and medical records in accordance with established guidelines. In addition, is responsible for the efficient flow of correspondence and coordinating and verifying the pre-authorization and referral processes.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Ambulatory Infusion is staffed by a pharmacy team that is knowledgeable in the care of patients with cancer, autoimmune diseases, infections and more. We provide expert care to the patients and all of their infusion needs.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Experience and/or training in ICD-10 coding required.
-
Experience and/or training with insurance, managed care, and pre-authorization required.
-
One (1) year experience in a hospital / medical office required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Systems Analysis/Evaluation - Knowledge of how a system works and how changes will affect outcomes. Ability to identify measures of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance to meet certain goals. Possess problem solving skills.

Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Ability to operate applications, write software, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information.

Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
