JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
-
The primary function of this position is to assist pharmacists in medication preparation, and labeling activities at COVID-19 community mass vaccination events. May be asked to assist with dosing and vaccine distribution, may be asked to administer vaccines (training provided).

This is a temporary 1.0 (80 hrs/pp) position anticipated to be approximately 4 months long.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
-
The vaccine teams at Samaritan Health Services work closely with patients, visitors and individuals in our communities to assist them in being vaccinated. This includes functions from recruiting volunteers for the vaccine events, helping people get on the waitlist for an appointment, scheduling appointments and then greeting patients, registering them, and completing their vaccination at one of our clinics. Samaritan’s mission is to build healthier communities together, and the collaboration from this department, our counties and communities to vaccinate everyone eligible who wants to be vaccinated is helping us to achieve that mission.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Successful completion of Medical Pharmacy Technician course preferred.

Experience and/or training as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Oregon Pharmacy Technician license required or eligible.
-
Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license required upon expiration of initial Oregon Pharmacy Technician license.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.

Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Ability to operate applications, write software, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information.

Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
