Associate Vice President of Patient Accounts

The Associate Vice President of Patient Accounts is responsible for the organization and management of system-wide Patient Financial Services activities. Develops and enhances productive working relationships among other departments, including Finance, Administration, Patient Access Services, Information Services, as well as other divisions. Establishes and enhances focus on the organization’s accomplishment of its financial goals and promotes continuous process improvement through customer awareness, fact-based decision-making, systems thinking, and teamwork.
Location
This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to work remotely with some onsite work at our Corvallis, Oregon office.
About the Department
The Regional Business Office handles the processing and follow-up on claims for services provided across our network.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Health Administration with a focus on Finance or Accounting, OR equivalent directly related Revenue Cycle experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in a healthcare patient financial services leadership role.
Required Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of healthcare collection/billing practices, computer systems, basic finance, and statistics.
- Functioning easily in a variety of hospital patient accounting and billing systems (Epic, DSS, FISS, electronic billing, claims clearinghouse configuration, denial management and contract management.
- Examining patient accounts, detecting, and resolving problems related to accounts receivables, and preparing and administering policies/procedures.
- Credit/collection functions, financial analysis, and third-party payer procedures.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Outlook, Work, Excel, and Teams.
- Experience in organizational structure, workflows, and process improvement.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience with Epic Reporting Workbench/Slicer-Dicer.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
