  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Provides technical support through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • Clinical Engineering provides technical support to Samaritan Health Services patient care areas through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Associate's degree in an Electronics Technology related field or equivalent experience required.
    • Two (2) years experience in the maintenance and repair of diagnostic imaging equipment and high energy equipment required.
    • This position requires the use of the employee's personal automobile. Employee must have a valid driver's license and auto liability/property damage insurance as required by law and must maintain their vehicle in good working order.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    • Ability to analyze, test, repair, calibrate, install and maintain electronic and electromechanical patient care devices and systems, including the associated use of test equipment, tools and diagnostic software. Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems to component level.
    • Working knowledge of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, fluidic and computer network fundamentals along with medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology as applied to the use of imaging and therapy equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret various types of schematics, wiring diagrams and illustrated parts drawings of devices and systems including color code conventions used in component and wiring marking.
    • Knowledge of the relative logic of cause and effect relationships, general engineering principles and problem solving processes including the ability to learn from others through comprehending and following both oral and written instructions.
    • Possess skills in operating computers and troubleshooting hardware and software problems, including a working knowledge of email, database, spreadsheet and word processing software and the ability to document and maintain accurate records.
    • Knowledge of Radiation Safety principles and practices as well as diagnostic imaging, PACS and associated computer network applications, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
