JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Supervises all clinical staff (RNs and Medical Assistants) in an oncology setting. Manages oncology patients in an ambulatory care setting undergoing chemotherapy and various other treatments, including clinical practice, education, research, consultation and patient care.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
-
The Hematology & Oncology teams at Samaritan Health Services specialize in diagnosing and treating adult cancer patients using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and biological therapy as well as treating a range of hematologic conditions. We educate patients about their illness, the treatment options and provide supportive care during treatment and into survivorship.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
One (1) of the following required:
-
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).
-
Associate's Degree plus two (2) years of nursing experience in an oncology clinical and/or Med Surg setting.

Current unencumbered Oregon RN License required.
-
Three (3) years experience in an oncology clinical and/or Med Surg setting required.
-
One (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting required.

OCN certification required within two (2) years of hire.
-
Healthcare Provider BLS required.

Successful completion of cancer chemotherapy and biotherapy courses preferred.
