JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

To provide management and technical support to the Clinical Engineering department affording the efficient and effective delivery of quality services by department staff. To provide technical support through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Clinical Engineering provides technical support to Samaritan Health Services patient care areas through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or related field, or completion of equivalent military training program required. Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred.

Five (5) years experience in the repair and maintenance of clinical equipment required. Three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.

ICC Certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge of Medical Equipment Maintenance Management programs, concepts and delivery systems.

Knowledge of general engineering principles, maintenance and repair processes, the relative logic of cause and effect relationships and the problem-solving process.

Knowledge of theories, concepts and principles of management including an awareness of current healthcare demands and trends, budget management and statistical methods.

Knowledge of state and federal regulatory and accrediting agency standards and guidelines.

Skilled in computer applications such as email, database, spreadsheet and word processing; and in running diagnostic programs and maintaining accurate records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
