  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Responsible for the implementation and administration of network security hardware and software, enforcing network security policies and complying with requirements of external security audits and recommendations. Ensures SHS network security infrastructure is provisioned according to company standards. Documents configurations for SHS network security hardware and software. Participates in incident, request, problem, configuration and change management according to ITIL standards and established service level agreements (SLA). Addresses security incidents (observed or reported) and recommends enhancements that improve the security of SHS systems.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • Information Services is committed to providing leadership, support and coordination of technology at Samaritan Health Services. The IS Infrastructure department provides a robust, agile and secure IT Infrastructure that supports SHS business objectives. The infrastructure includes, but is not limited to the following services: data network, voice, Windows and Linux server, data center and centralized endpoint management. 
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a related field) or equivalent experience required.
    • Three (3) years experience in network administration, systems administration or network security required.
    • Industry recognized, current and relevant certification required within one (1) year of hire.
    • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

    • Communication: Skilled at sharing information in an appropriate and timely manner showing mutual respect and genuinely soliciting the feedback of others. Ability to effectively tailor communications to various audiences including peers, customers and leadership.
    • Leadership: Skilled at creating a positive environment where the team can be successful. Ability to train and successfully mentor less experienced and junior team members to increase the effectiveness of the overall team.
    • Work Management: Ability to set attainable team goals at the appropriate level which are based on the overall mission or purpose and, working independently and coordinating with others, successfully complete those goals. Ability to plan, document, coordinate, and sequence tasks to effectively complete committed deliverables.
