  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Actively monitors and remediates alerts from SHS network security hardware and software. Responsible for support and maintenance of firewalls, VPN tunnels and associated network security services. Participates in incident, request, configuration and change management according to ITIL standards and established service level agreements (SLA). Assists with installation, configuration, maintenance/upgrades, patching and troubleshooting of network security infrastructure. Ensures SHS network security infrastructure is provisioned according to company standards. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of configuration documentation for SHS network security hardware and software. Ensures proper responses to incidents, requests, problems. Addresses security incidents (observed or reported) and recommends enhancements that improve the security of SHS systems.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • Information Services is committed to providing leadership, support and coordination of technology at Samaritan Health Services. The IS Infrastructure department provides a robust, agile and secure IT Infrastructure that supports SHS business objectives. The infrastructure includes, but is not limited to the following services: data network, voice, Windows and Linux server, data center and centralized endpoint management.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a related field) or equivalent experience required.
    • One (1) year experience in systems administration or engineering (relevant to position) required.
    • Industry recognized, current and relevant certification required within one (1) year of hire.
    • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
    • Experience configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting routers, switches and network firewalls preferred.
    • Cisco experience (especially with ASA and FTD/FPR) preferred.
    • Experience with the following preferred:
      a. Resolving routing and NAT issues.
      b. TCP/IP and related services like DHCP/DNS/SSH.
      c. Performing and analyzing packet captures.
      d. Network security practices, including IDS/IPS and ACLs.
      e. EIGRP, OSPF and BGP.
      f. S2S/L2L VPN.
